Carolina Pure was founded outside of Wilmington, NC after one of its founders started a daily regimen of CBD and was blown away by the positive effects after just a few days. But he was struck by the price of hemp products and it was often difficult to determine the quality of the products. The price then for hemp products ranged from “expensive” to “ridiculously expensive”, and that hasn't changed all that much in the 2 years since. This motivated him to start Carolina Pure with the mission of providing high quality hemp products at a price point of a dollar a day.
During 2018 and into 2019, Carolina Pure performed deep market research, product testing, and logged countless hours with current and prospective customers. We listened to what mattered most to them. What we found was that many people in North Carolina had limited product knowledge and were intimidated by the terminology and dizzying array of product options they encountered while seeking reputable local hemp products. With customer satisfaction our top priority, Carolina Pure launched in 2019 to provide the Carolinas with an affordable and local source of premium hemp.
Founded, headquartered, and distributed in agriculturally-rich North Carolina, Carolina Pure’s mission is to educate the consumer and make CBD accessible to everyone. We stand by the quality of our hemp products, with a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (COA) available on our website for every item we sell. Our COAs document hemp potency for all cannabinoids and compounds as well as any potential contaminants, so you can be sure your Carolina Pure product is of the highest quality.

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
There are many varieties of the cannabis plant. Both hemp and marijuana are of the species Cannabis Sativa. Hemp has much lower concentrations of THC (the psychoactive substance in marijuana) and higher concentrations of CBD while marijuana has far more THC and far less CBD. By law, hemp plants may contain no more than 0.3% of THC. For comparison, marijuana plants typically contain 5%-25% THC.
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol ("CBD") is the most prominent of dozens of cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. CBD is extracted from stalks, stems, and flowers of hemp plants and is non-psychoactive.
Is CBD legal in the United States?
Hemp-derived CBD is legal at the federal level in the United States following passage of the Hemp Farming Act of 2018. However, some areas have laws that place certain restrictions on hemp so please reference the relevant statutes in your jurisdiction.
Does CBD make you feel "high" or "intoxicated"?
All Carolina Pure products contain less THC than the .3% limit set by the U.S. federal government. Currently, no Carolina Pure offering contains more than .15% THC.
